TAHOTA Law Firm (China) Visits and Connects with VTA
On April 26, 2025, TAHOTA Law Firm – led by Ms. Xiaomin Liao, a Partner of TAHOTA – paid a visit and held a working session at the VTA Office in Ho Chi Minh City
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Pham Xuan Sang – President of VTA, together with Mr. Pham Viet Tuan – VTA Arbitrator and Partner at Indochine Counsel.
TAHOTA currently ranks among the top 10 largest law firms in China and the top 100 largest law firms worldwide, with nearly 60 offices across China and internationally, and more than 7,600 legal professionals and staff, including over 3,300 practicing lawyers.

The firm provides specialized legal services across various sectors including real estate, finance, investment, M&A, aviation, high-tech manufacturing, environmental protection, pharmaceuticals, entertainment, and digital technologies (such as AI and blockchain).
During the meeting, the President of VTA introduced the commercial arbitration mechanism in Vietnam, emphasizing its increasing importance in resolving international business disputes. He also encouraged TAHOTA to advise its clients to consider Vietnam-seated commercial arbitration, particularly in transactions between Chinese enterprises and Vietnamese investors, to ensure effective dispute resolution.
Ms. Xiaomin Liao – who also serves as a VTA Arbitrator and Co-Chair of NextGen VTA – expressed her pleasure at establishing a closer connection and collaboration with VTA in promoting commercial arbitration. She affirmed that she and her colleagues would give special attention to the proposals made by the President of VTA.
Also during the meeting, President Pham Xuan Sang and Co-Chair of NextGen VTA, Ms. Xiaomin Liao, had an in-depth discussion on the upcoming activities of NextGen VTA, particularly initiatives aimed at fostering international networking and exchanges among the young legal communities of Vietnam, China, and ASEAN countries.
Also during the meeting, Ms. Xiaomin Liao – Lawyer and Arbitrator – informed VTA of TAHOTA’s decision to officially become a Supporting Partner of NextGen VTA for the 2025–2027 period, accompanying the community in promoting the culture of commercial arbitration and supporting young legal professionals and arbitrators in developing their expertise and expanding international connections.
In the near future, Ms. Xiaomin Liao will also dedicate her time and schedule to engage with the NextGen VTA community, sharing her experiences and inspiring young legal professionals in their journeys, particularly those aspiring to become professional arbitrators.
This visit and working session mark an important step in strengthening the connection and promoting collaboration between VTA and prestigious legal organizations in China, while opening up new opportunities to foster a stronger arbitration culture among the business communities of both countries.

The Vietnam Trade Arbitration Center (VTA) is responsible for organizing and coordinating the resolution of business disputes through institutional arbitration, with jurisdiction over disputes including: (i) disputes arising from commercial activities between parties; (ii) disputes involving at least one party engaged in commercial activities; and (iii) disputes as prescribed by law to be resolved by arbitration.
